the story of yasume is pretty simple. xela was bored one day and wanted to listen to some music, he noticed a link to some music by a
young american chap by the name of logreybeam. odd name, he thought, but was intrigued to listen. now xela hadnt heard much good music
on the internet and was pleasantly surprised when he heard these tracks were a cut above the usual rubbish. in fact, he really enjoyed
them and didnt hesitate in contacting the man himself. at the time xela was working on a remix project with his good friend metamatics,
so he asked logreybeam to contribute to this project. after a few days logreybeam sent xela a sort of dry drum track for the remix, as
he was having trouble with the melody. xela promptly imported it into cubase and wrote the rest - and yasume was born. at this time xela
was in talks with michael fakesch about doing some material for his label 'musik aus strom' and suggested that they release a yasume ep.
michael loved the yasume tracks and agreed. ever since then yasume have been quietly working away creating some of the best cross
atlantic electronic music the world has ever heard.

xela is uk resident john twells, who has been making music in one form or another ever since he was 7 years old. he went through the
flute, saxophone, bass and guitar, playing in punk/alternative bands around the west midlands before giving it all up after a serious
re-think about music. he began to experiment with synth sounds and drum machines, recording simple tunes on his dads 4-track recorder,
making loops and playing cheap electric pianos on it. eventually this developed as he discovered the computer, and in particular,
cubase. and eventually he saved enough money to buy a real synthesizer and sampler. soon after this he finished a demo which he sent to
his idol lee metamatics, owner of neo ouija records in the uk. after some waiting lee informed him that one of the tracks would be used
on the next neo ouija compliation 'annexe' and also asked xela to put together an ep. this ep gradually turned into an album which will
soon be released (xela - for frosty mornings and summer nights). while all this was going on, other labels started to hear about xela,
most notably musik aus strom, funkstoerung's label. after hearing the track 'street level' they decided to use it on their forthcoming
compilation 'mas confusion' and asked xela to write some more music for them. other labels that xela has been making music for are dub,
merck, plug research, onrecords, cactus island and his own label TYPE. the TYPE label has already been endorsed by cult film director
John Carpenter and mad filmmakers TROMA - so good things are ahead!

logreybeam is better known as LA resident gabe morley. he is a talented 'classically trained' musician who started playing piano at the
age of 5. by 12 years old he was composing symphonies, but he always felt something was missing. all through his school years he was
never content with the restrictions of the sounds he created, then he joined music school and something strange happened. he declared
war on music as we know it, abandoning the written musical language and discovering a fledgling computer music scene, launching his
already ripe talents into the world of dsp! always shunned by his teachers for not being 'academic' enough and shunned by the general
populace for being TOO 'academic' he finally seemed to have found his niche. and so his experiments in sound began to filter their way
into the ears of likeminded people the world over. most notably, one of his tracks was used by plaid on their seminal XFM mix session,
which comes up frequently on ebay. gabe's track 'ais creme supe' is soon to be released by the acclaimed new york based label/artist
group 'team shadetek', this will be his first release, followed shortly by a metamatics remix on delikatessen with xela, setzer and sense joining him.
