Rosenheim, a small Bavarian town in the midst of Germany. Michael Fakesch and Chris de Luca met through their common
love for techno. A friend told them how easy it was to make your own music and they bought some basic music equipment
like the Roland TR909 and TB303 and started experimenting. Funkstorung was born. It took two years before their first
records were released by dutch recordlabels Bunker and AcidPlanet. At that time their musical style changed from
minimal techno to electronics/IDM. Since no-one was interested in their new stuff, they started their own label, Musik
Aus Strom (later followed by a second imprint, Sellwell). From the beginning, their main objective was to use MAS as a
platform to release their own and their friends. music: ep.s by Freeform, Aemic, While, Crunch, Math etc. .Sellwell is
more about linking hiphop, battlerecords and triphop to electronica., says Chris de Luca. Releases on Sellwell include
Andre Estermann, Akrasi, Cloinc and dj Peabird. In between touring around the world as Funkstörung, they also do many
remixes for .famous. artists like Bjork and WuTangClan. They see remixes like their own tracks, except for the fact
that you have to use sounds from the original. Michael Fakesch: .It makes no big difference for us whether we do
remixes or make our own tracks, we like both a lot. Remixes give you the chance to play with new elements you.d never
expect to fit into your music. For example, the WuTangClan rework. We realised that you definitely can mix up mad
electronics with rap..
Having produced a couple of tracks from the new album by Swedish pop artist Jay Jay Johanssen, they.re planning to do a
little tour outside Europe (USA, Asia, Australia). On the MAS/Sellwell/K7!-front: a Musik Aus Strom compilation is
coming up. Chris de Luca just released an album with dj Peabird and they.re also working on the new Funkstörung album
to be released on K7!Recordings later this year.

Eavesdropper started years ago somewhere in the leftfield drum'n'bass-breakbeatscene. Since then, he has worked for
film, commercials, dance and theatre, writing scores, doing sounddesign and sound installations for exhibitions.
Nowadays his music ranges from minimal tracks to heavy rhythmic pieces, all based on a microscopic view on sound,
detailed layered structures and a deep interest in menacing atmospheres. His livesets swing from noisy anthems to
clicking hopping.

Cwichlo is an avant-gardist who studied with contemporary composer Godfried-Willem Raes and is also a musicologist with
a particular interest in 18th century opera. These influences are reflected in his eclectic output for both the
contemporary music and electronica scenes. Unusual rhythmic breaks are often combined with warm, aetheric melodies and
polyphonic lines of bell-like sounds.

Affective Disorder made their debut at an FGA party in 1997 as a collaboration between David and Greg. Originally
specialising in distorted, pumping and hard techno, AD quickly evolved to various softer styles after Greg left the
group. David finds it a challenge to search for and explore the balance between the emotional and technological sides of
music. He likes to explore how randomness can be tamed and shaped until it becomes useable as a trigger or controller
for notes, patterns and parameters. When control goes out of hand, David finds solace in playing with ambiences, drones
and textures.

It all started for spacid in elementary school: owning a portable turntable and a self-constructed discobar he toured
local festivities and weddings, entertaining people. It wasn.t untill 1991 when he was invited to play in one of the
first house-cafés in Kortrijk, his place of birth, playing deep, garage and acid house on a weekly basis. Spacid, sick
of stagnating music and commercial business in the dance scene, turned to underground, playing experimental acid and
early techno. In 1994 Spacid established Funky Green Aliens, a party-event organisation and booking agency that is
mainly concerned with promoting experimental music. His carreer accellerated when he was asked to play at some of the
biggest clubs and raves in Belgium and abroad (Ten Days Off, Doornroosje, Dance Valley, Kozzmozz.). One of Spacid.s
passions is pushing things forward musicwise: new and obscure sounds (minimal/experimental techno, ambient, noise, IDM,
post-rock etc.), strange and unique locations.
Currently Spacid works for the MusicMan recordstore in Ghent, organises FGA and Bolwerk-events and runs his booking
agency.

Dj Tonic started deejaying at the age of 16. After a short carreer in drum.n.bass Tonic switched to moody grooves,
experimenting with deep house, funky electronica and breakbeats.
The first time Tonic heard electro he got hooked right away, following that with a healthy dose of italo. After
playing as a regular at the Decadance a few people introduced him to more experimental breaks. Now Tonic crosses
over between electro, experimental tunes and good house. Not afraid of a fat breakbeat, he likes .moving da
crowd....
